Off the Mark: The Misguided Policies of Washington Economists

The multilateral agencies of Washington perform a double role in developing countries and now in Eastern Europe: they finance and advise these countries on the road to stability and growth. Unfortunately, the economic elites of the developing world tend to be so subordinated to the dominant ideas of the developed countries that it is difficult for them to criticize Washington’s views.
